Are you an experienced Business Development Director, with a passion for selling industry-leading social media campaigns? Have you built trusted long-term client relationships while working at agencies in the past? Here at Digital Voices, we are looking for a Global Business Development Director to join our rapidly-growing agency and build a business development team to shape the future of Digital Voices. 

We are looking for someone to:

Strategise and Manage

  • Build and structure a business development team that can function and expand internationally as we tackle new markets 
  • Craft and own a sales approach and strategy that drives results
  • Establish objectives and goals for your team to achieve together
  • Develop a training programme for existing employees on the business development team and a strong onboarding system for new hires 
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to set team targets and own the P&L, with input on renumeration structures for the team
  • Work closely with the agency’s Senior Leadership Team, particularly the CFO, Head of Accounts, Senior Marketing Manager and CEO
  • Adapt to insights and learnings as we go through this process together. Ensure that the team is responsive and sales processes can be adapted.

Close Sales

  • Strategically approach clients with vast opportunities for scale in Influencer Marketing, particularly DTC brands with performance and customer acquisition goals
  • Build trust and deep relationships with new and potential clients. At Digital Voices we believe in a sales approach built on education, consultation, partnership and transparency with our clients.
  • Maintain strong and long-term client relationships, especially planning thoughtful and personal touches to make them feel appreciated
  • Develop strategy for the Accounts team to upsell at the right moments to existing clients, alongside Head of Accounts
  • Be culturally receptive to different norms and cultures around sales and business internationally
  • Most importantly, to foster an attitude where you keep learning and improve the team

About you:

We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Director, with experience of driving global sales and building teams for marketing agencies. You’ll be motivated by global clients and opportunities, training people, consultative sales approach and winning client trust. We want you to work closely as part of the Senior Leadership Team to build the sales team and supportive structure you wish you’d had, making your team feel motivated and appreciated.

You’ll have:

  • 5+ years of experience selling social media or Influencer Marketing campaigns for an agency
  • A strategic approach to designing, targeting and approaching potential customer personas
  • A strong understanding of social media platforms and the Creator Economy, so that you can build an approach that educates clients
  • A track record of successfully scaling agency growth in multiple markets, including target setting
  • Experience of training and managing junior and mid-level business development hires
  • Exceptional email etiquette, interpersonal skills and ability to build client trust through education
  • Empathy and enthusiasm for large global clients, with a problem-solving brain that is quick to react to pressure if something doesn’t go to plan
  • Experience developing guides, decks and resources to educate clients at scale
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills
  • A passion to build an agency that empowers the Creator Economy and drive guaranteed results for client partners
  • Ideally, a second language at fluent or native level
