Twitter sues Elon Musk for abandoning acquisition | Digital Roundup

After a few rocky months, the Elon Musk-Twitter deal saga has reached new heights with the company now filing a lawsuit against the Tesla CEO. This comes moments after Musk decided to back out of his $44 billion takeover on Friday.

The billionaire is abandoning his plans following concerns over Twitter allegedly failing to provide enough information on bots and scam accounts. However, the company argue Musk now “refuses to honour his obligations to Twitter and its stockholders because the deal he signed no longer serves his personal interests.”

While the outcome of the dispute can’t be predicted, Twitter is seeking a four-day trial in September. Musk has since responded to the lawsuit with, of course, a tweet.

"Oh the irony lol," posted Musk.
