International Women's Day: Inspiring Inclusion in the Influencer Marketing Space

On International Women's Day, it's crucial to acknowledge the strides being made toward gender equality while recognizing the persistent challenges that remain.

In a corporate landscape where men traditionally dominate, statistics remind us of the ongoing battle for pay equality and leadership representation.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), a gender pay gap in the corporate world remains, with women earning 7.7% less than men in median hourly pay. Forbes echoes this, revealing that women still earned 17% less on average compared to men in 2022.

The underrepresentation of women in top leadership positions is evident, with only 10.4% of Fortune 500 CEOs in 2023 being female. These numbers show how hard it is for women to move up in the workplace and get the same pay for their work.

At Digital Voices, we are proud to be headed up by our female founder and CEO, Jenny Quigley-Jones, who believes wholeheartedly in striving for equality in the corporate world and beyond. Learn more about Jenny’s journey here

A positive outlook in the influencer space

However, despite these challenges, there's a promising opportunity for empowerment for women – the world of Influencer Marketing. Celebrated for its realness, creativity, and connection, Influencer Marketing has emerged as an industry where women not only thrive but often lead.

According to a Collabstr 2023 Influencer Marketing Report, an impressive 77% of influencers monetizing their content are female. Influencer Marketing not only provides a platform for women's voices to be heard but also celebrates their diverse talents and passions.

As we embrace the theme of 'Inspire Inclusion' for International Women's Day 2024, hear from some of our incredible female clients about their experiences as a woman in the corporate world, speaking about the challenges they have faced, the successes they have achieved, and learning who has inspired them along their journey to where they are today.

A huge thank you to our clients at Colgate, Which? And ZURU Toys for sharing your experiences with us for International Women’s Day!
