Blink and you’ll miss it. As August draws to a close, the summer is beginning to feel distant – especially if you’re living in the UK, as it feels like it never really started!
There may have been a lack of sun, but we certainly didn’t have a lack of fun! From Summer Fridays to our full team social in London, Digital Voices has had a pretty epic couple of months.
With team members scattered across the world – from Miami to Manchester – we had all looked forward to getting together for two days of work and play in London, and it didn’t disappoint.
When working remotely, it's super important to bring the team together for socials like this to share ideas in person, and to stay connected. Our August social was even more exciting than usual, as the US team flew over to the UK to join the fun. New starters and long-standing team members were able to come together under one roof, putting faces to names and Slack channel messages.
With work wrapped up and many cocktails consumed on DV summer conference day 1, on day 2, we took to the (very rainy) streets of London to partake in a scavenger hunt, hosted by The Big Smoke Events.

We believe that spending time as a team and enjoying ourselves away from the office allows us to build valuable connections with one another, and building these relationships means that when we collaborate together, the work we produce is even more epic!
As well as enjoying spending time together as a team, we’ve had some exciting business wins throughout the summer, too!
We believe in the value of connecting and learning in person with current and prospective clients in order to stay aligned with one another. During the past couple of months, we had to attend a learning day with JCDecaux where they spoke to us about their approach to OOH advertising, and how it could work for us as an Influencer Marketing agency in the future. Most recently, we joined Unilever and Google for a 2024 planning day to identify strategic influencer campaign ideas for a selection of their brands. We even bought some content creators along for the ride!
There have also been some exciting celebrations this month, as we secured the award for Best Brand Engagement campaign at the Influencer Marketing Awards for our campaign with Duolingo, and we have also been shorted in two categories for the bCreator Awards. We’re now patiently awaiting the ceremony…
Alongside this, our session idea ‘The Dirty Side of Rainbow Washing’ made it to the SXSW 2024 panel picker for public voting! The voting is now closed, and we are awaiting the results. But whichever way the voting goes, we see this as a big win, as we have been able to put our name in front of so many brands and industry professionals who associate themselves with one of the biggest events within the creative industry.
